Lehigh Valley Criminal Defense Attorney Tom Carroll will launch his campaign for Northampton County district attorney on Thursday, according to a news release.
The former assistant district attorney said his candidacy is supported by the 9-12 Project of the Lehigh Valley. He campaigned for President Trump in 2016 in Allentown.
He’s the first candidate to throw his hat into the ring now that longtime District Attorney John Morganelli announced he will run for county judge.
In case you haven’t heard, Pittsburgh’s Mayor is promising to break state law and pass city ordinances to ban “assault weapons” & limit magazine capacities, and more. (here is an article on his plans)
Well a few advocates decided to fight it legally. That battle is lead by Kim Stolfer (FOAC) and Josh Prince (Prince Law). Here is an article on that.
But some felt we needed a physical presence, so a rally was scheduled and it is turning out to be huge. (article: Protesters urged to carry guns at rally against Pittsburgh regulations)
A few of us are definitely going. Do you want to join us? We will rent the number of vans needed to accommodate those who want to go ($35 round trip). We will leave Monday morning (5 AM) from a lot near Dorney Park.
Get tickets here…. Please get tickets ($35 round trip) before Christmas as we need time to arrange vans. If you can’t go but wish to donate, you can do so on the ticketing page (select tickets and then the ‘donation’ ticket type.)
Pittsburgh’s Mayor Peduto is taking the lead and demanding new gun control laws in his city and across the state. Under current state law, only the state government can regulate firearms, not cities, counties or municipalities. This is done so that gun owners have a consistent set of laws across the state, otherwise they would need to know every firearms related ordinance in every municipality as they traveled anywhere in-state.
The Mayor doesn’t seem to care and is willing to break the law to get his ordinance passed. The Lehigh Valley Tea Party is supporting the Firearms Owners Against Crime organization in the Pittsburgh area and Prince Law of Berks County to stop this Mayor in his tracks.
If you can help us fund this effort, please do. Donate to our Legal Defense fund. We will then aggregate the money and forward it Prince Law.
Here’s the Pittsburgh Gazette article….
“Mayor Bill Peduto contacted dozens of mayors across the nation this week, asking them to join Pittsburgh in introducing local gun legislation possibly as soon as Friday — and which will most likely be challenged in court.”
The Lehigh Valley Tea Party has formed a new 501(c)(4) non-partisan, non-profit organization tasked with developing a detailed, comprehensive solution to solve the problem of school shootings, and thereby save lives.
It is a coalition of students, school personnel, Individual Rights advocates, law makers, law enforcement, and the community at large. As a membership organization, it will be ready to begin accepting members by mid-summer. To receive word, leave your contact information at PCTESS.com
