Dear LVTP Members and friends,

Recent media reporting of inaccurate information regarding the Lehigh Valley Tea Party (LVTP) may have confused some of you regarding a rally we did not plan or participate in this past Sunday, July 27, 2014.

We make any and all public announcements about LVTP rallies and events directly to you, our members, via email, our website, the Freedom Network, a robo call, and directly to our contacts in the real media.

We do not send press releases to bloggers, independent writers, or self-proclaimed 'reporters'. We do not post events on any other group's facebook or website pages.

We have not united with any other group by any other name.

If you see or hear anything about the LVTP that you have not received in your email or read directly from our website or facebook pages, it most likely is untrue.

Your elected board members can be reached via email, and I can also be reached personally by phone almost always. Please make note of the names and email addresses below for reference.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and I look forward to seeing you all at the August "First Friday Event!".

Common Core Standards - Separating Truth from Fiction

Commercials on radio and TV make it clear, and hard to argue, that the Common Core mandate is clearly best for all children. Even the national PTA has endorsed Common Core.

If that's the case - why is there so much controversy? Why do opponents claim it is counterproductive to achieving a quality and a higher level of education for all children? Truly, why would anyone fear or fight an opportunity to achieve better and higher standards for all children?

According to Peg Luksik, a 35 year educator & trainer, author, and former US Dept of education employee tasked to review and evaluate education reform initiatives, the answer is found in the actual documents of the Common Core initiative along with the supporting memos, current legislation and definitive actions, by the US Department of Education and the PA Department of Education.

On July 11th, see and hear exactly how the Common Core initiative will impact local education based on the documents and actions of the US Department of Education and the State of PA. Luksik will guide the audience through the mandated regulations and documents as published.

Ask questions. You decide - do these standards benefit ALL the students?

Who is Peg Luksik?

Peg Luksik is a Pennsylvania teacher with over 35 years of experience in both special education and elementary education. She has taught at every level from pre-school to college in regular classrooms, resource centers, self-contained special education classes, and in alternative educational settings. In addition, Luksik has trained teachers in curriculum and classroom management, written and evaluated curricula, authored several books on education issues, and hosted a nationally syndicated television program dealing with education in America.

As a graduate student, Luksik worked in a psychometric testing center, where she administered, scored and interpreted the educational assessments used to diagnose both gifted and challenged children and determine their educational programming. She has also worked for the U.S. Department of Education, tasked to review and evaluate education reform initiatives.

Luksik and her husband Jim have 6 children and reside in Johnston PA

Keep your mouths shut about illegal immigrants or face arrest.

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say.

Thank You Tea Party

E-mail Print PDF

To begin, I would like to thank all for the opportunity to make my case to be the nominee for the 17th Congressional District. Although we did not secure the nomination, it was an honor to have the privilege push the values of limited government and securing individual liberties and freedoms.

I will continue to address the issues facing our nation; attacks on our personal liberties, veterans, and youth; not because I am seeking the nomination, but because we must find solutions. I have committed myself to these issues and will continue to fight for what we believe to be Right & Just.

My first step will be to fulfill my promise to help the nominated candidate Dr. David Moylan win in November. I will also be active helping our Veterans receive the help and support they deserve. It is apparent that we can not wait for our government to solve these issues.

Although, I was unable to attend tonight's meeting I look to be active in the LVTP. Your mission of educating Americans on the issues facing our great nation is something to be proud of.

Your commitment to reduce Government spending must be recognized in Washington. The path of spending and debt is unsustainable. It is mathematically impossible, maybe that is why our Government has felt the need to push Common Core, where getting the right answer isn't important.

The Tea Party has changed the election debates. No longer are candidates running on what government programs and funds that they will bring back to their district, but campaign on fiscal responsibility. Now if we can get them to add running on protecting our liberties and constraining government, we as a nation will be on the right track.

I want to thank you again for the opportunity to come before the group, and look to work with you going forward.

Matthew Dietz

Thank You - Second Amendment Action Day

E-mail Print PDF

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their hard work and support of the 9thAnnual Pennsylvania Second Amendment Action Day. This event would not be possible without all of your dedication to our right to keep and bear arms.

Despite the rain, we still had a solid turnout of both legislators and attendees. Your presence was definitely noticed throughout the halls of the Capitol.

I look forward to meeting with everyone later in the year to discuss the plans for 10th Annual Action Day.

Until then, please keep up the fight and do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance with any state-related issue.

For Liberty,
Daryl Metcalfe

State Representative
